1.Equipment inspection and adjustment

& Laser generator:

        Check whether the output power of the laser generator is stable. If the power is unstable, the laser generator may need to be maintained or calibrated to ensure that the output power is within the normal range.

        Check the quality of the laser beam. If the laser has problems such unstable mode and excessive divergence angle, the laser generator may need to be adjusted or repaired.

& Optical system:

        Check that the focusing lens is clean and free from damage. If the lens is contaminated or damaged, it will affect the focusing effect of the laser and cause uneven incisions. You can use a special lens cleaner for cleaning or replace damage lenses.

        Check whether the light path is colimated. If there is a deviation in the optical path, the upper and lower lasers will be different. A laser collimator can be used to adjust the light path to ensure that the laser beam remains collimated during transmission.

& Mechanical structure:

        Check the flatness and stability of the workbench. If the workbench is uneven or unstable, it will affect the placement and welding effect of the aluminum foil. You can use a level to adjust the workbench to ensure that its flatness is within the allowable range.

        Check whether the clamping force of the fixture is uniform. If the clamping force is uneven, it will cause the aluminum foil to deform during the welding process and affect the welding quality. The clamping force of the fixture can be adjusted to ensure that the aluminum foil is firmly clamped.

2.Material inspection and handing

& Aluminum foil quality:

        Check whether the material of the aluminum foil is uniform. If the aluminum foil has uneven material, it will lead to inconsistent welding effects at different parts during the welding process. You can choose an aluminum foil material with more uniform quality.

        Check whether the surface of the aluminum foil is clean. If there are impurities such as oil stains and oxide layers on the surface of the aluminum foil, it will affect the laser absorption and welding effect. A cleaner can be used to clean the surface of the aluminum foil to remove impurities.

& Aluminum foil thickness:

        Check whether the of the aluminum foil meets the requirements of the laser welding machine. If the aluminum foil material of appropriate thickness can be selected according to the parameter requirements of the laser welding machine.

3. Adjustment of process parameters

& Laser power:

        Adjust the laser power to find the best power value suitable for aluminum foil welding. If the power is too high, it may cause the aluminum foil to burn through or deform; if the power is too low, it may cause the welding to be unstable. You can test different power values to observe the welding effect and fine the best power.

& Welding speed:

        Adjust the welding speed to ensure the right time between the laser and the aluminum foil. If the welding speed is too fast, insufficient welding may be caused; if the welding speed is too fast, insufficient welding may be caused; if the welding speed is too slow, the aluminum foil may be overheated and the welding quality may be affected. You can test different welding speeds, observe the welding effect, and find the optimal speed.

& Focus length:

        Adjust the focal length of the laser to ensure that the laser beam is accurately focused on the aluminum foil. If the focal length is inaccurate, it will affect the energy density and welding effect of the lasesr. The best focus can be found by adjusting the position of the focusing lens of using the autofocus system.

& Gas protection:

        During laser welding, gas protection can be used to prevent oxidation of aluminum foil and improve welding quality. You can choose appropriate protective gases, such as argon, nitrogen, etc.,and adjust the gas flow and pressure to ensure good protective effects.

4. Operation training

& Train operators to familiarize themselves with the operating methods and precautions of laser welding machines.

& Train operators on how to correctly adjust process parameters, inspect equipment and deal with material problems, and improve operators' skills and ability to solve problems.

&Through the inspection and adjustment of the above methods, the problems of scattered aluminum foil, different upper and lower lasers, and uneven incisions can be effectively, and welding quality and production efficiency can be improved.
